What is vSkips ?
vSkips is designed to reduce the number of items being sent to landfill. The idea is simple - Instead of hiring a real skip for your unwanted items you create a virtual skip or "vSkip" and upload your items for other people to search and claim. Recirculating in this way helps to reduce unnecesary landfill and has a positive effect on global warming.

How much does vSkips cost ?
vSkips is completely FREE ! In order to moderate use of vSkips we simply ask that you register as a member. Doing so enables you to contact vSkip owners and claim items you are interested in.

How do I get my FREE vSkip ?
Easy. When you register you are allocated a yellow vSkip (for offering items) and an orange vSkip (for requesting wanted items). Simply click here register. Your virtual skips will be created immediately and you can start adding items straight away !

Can I create additional vSkips ?
No. You can only have one yellow vSkip and one orange vSkip per account, but there is nothing to stop you creating more than one account if you want to.

How do I add items to my vSkips ?
Login using the username and password that were sent to the email address you provided when you created your free vSkip.

What can I put in my vSkips ?
You can put anything you like in your vSkips so long as it's not illegal, dangerous or offensive to others.

Can I charge for items in my vSkips ?
No. All items must be offered FREE for collection. If you notice someone charging for items please contact us.

How do I edit the content of my vSkips ?
Login using the username and password that were sent to the email address you provided when you created your free vSkip. Delete the item you wish to amend and then add it as a new item to your vSkip.

I forgot my password !
No worries. Use the password reminder link on the login page. Just enter the email address that you used when you originally registered with vSkips. If you still experience difficulties logging in please contact us.

How do I make my vSkips easier for people to find ?
When entering items into your vSkip try to use words and phrases that people are likely to enter. Use variations of the words if necessary. Also, make sure that your vSkips have the correct postcode allocated to them.

How do I search vSkips ?
Enter the item you are looking for in the search box at the top of each page. Type in your full postcode and the distance you are willing to travel to collect items. Then click the "Dive" button. You can also browse items by postcode area. If you like surprises why not try Random Skip Diving - you never know what you might find !

Why can't I find what I'm looking for ?
You may find that items have been described differently so try retyping your search term. If you don't mind travelling further try increasing the mileage.
